    Beschreibung

    This expansion set converts a SdKfz 250 or SdKfz 251 into a motorised mortar carrier - two of the most widely used German half-tracks in base attack and reconnaissance. The included self-contained mortar team can also be used dismounted, offering tactical flexibility on the tabletop.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The SdKfz 250/7 served as a standardised mortar carrier and was assigned to the 4th platoon of every Light Panzer Reconnaissance Company. With the permanently mounted 8cm GrW34 and 42 rounds on board, it was usually accompanied by an ammunition vehicle that carried an additional 66 rounds and two MG 34s for close-range protection. The SdKfz 251/2 fulfilled the same role for motorised infantry and also transported the GrW34 with 66 rounds - the removable recoil base plate allowed the mortar to be used dismounted as well.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    This expansion set depicts mortar carriers based on the SdKfz 250 or 251. In the game, they provide indirect fire support for mechanized German units. The additional standalone mortar team also makes the set interesting for dismounted support options.
