Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Opel Blitz was one of the most important German trucks of the Second World War. Warlord describes variants such as the Type S with two-wheel drive and the Type A with all-wheel drive chassis, as well as conversions such as radio cars, fuel tankers and anti-aircraft platforms. The Maultier half-track variant was introduced in 1941 after the difficult mud seasons on the Eastern Front. Using a track system based on the Panzer I, it became a versatile transport vehicle that was used for the remainder of the war.

Einsatz im Spiel

In the game, the Opel Blitz serves as an affordable and flexible transport for infantry, supplies, or scenario objectives. The Maultier variant is particularly well-suited for Eastern Front and bad weather scenarios where half-track mobility makes narrative sense. In Bolt Action and Chain of Command, the vehicle provides mobility but remains vulnerable and should not be used as a combat vehicle.
