    Background & context

    The 7.5cm PaK 40 reached the front from 1942, when the 3.7cm and 5cm guns were no longer enough against the T-34 and KV-1. At around 1.5 tonnes it was hard to move and was mostly towed by tractors or half-tracks, but in return it could penetrate almost any Allied tank at normal combat ranges until the end of the war. More than 20,000 were built, and its barrel also found its way into the Marder, StuG III and Panzer IV. For the infantry in Normandy and on the Eastern Front it was often the last reserve against armoured breakthroughs.

    On the tabletop

    The plastic PaK 40 gives your German force in Bolt Action a heavy anti-tank gun that stays effective against most Allied tanks until the end of the war. It is most dangerous when firing from a concealed position, and against infantry it fires high-explosive rounds. You can paint the crew as Heer or Waffen-SS, with decals for both included. Parts of the crew frame also fit other German plastic kits, and an order die comes in the box.
