With Bolt Action: Second World War, rulebook fully in German, a manageable number of figures. If you like it smaller, take SAGA with a warband of a handful of figures.

What do I need besides the starter set?
Paints, brushes, plastic glue and dice. You will find paints and glue under Painting and Accessories.
Do I need an opponent?
Not to begin with: many starter sets contain both armies.
Are the figures painted?
No. They come unpainted and usually need assembly. You will find paints and brushes under Painting.
