Product details

Background & context

Konflikt '47 picks up exactly where the real war stopped and simply lets it run on. A failed German experiment tears rifts in reality, and within two years the Rift technology that both sides derive from it gives rise to arms of service that never existed: combat walkers, armoured suits, jump packs and considerably more unpleasant things besides. The fronts have stayed the same, the means have not. At its core it remains tactical turn-by-turn combat, supplemented by everything that crawls out of the rift.

On the tabletop

For your first two-player game of Konflikt '47, one player sets up 12 US Fireflies and the other 6 Axis Stahltruppen, so a larger squad of jump troops against a handful of armoured infantry. The ruined buildings and the bunker from the card insert go on the double-sided mat and give both sides cover. Each player gets 4 Order Dice in their colour for the dice bag, plus 3 Rift Dice for the Rift rules. You look things up in the English Field Manual, and the markers from the punchboard go right next to the figures. Once the squads are built, you can get going, and afterwards you expand one of the two sides into a full platoon.
