These elite soldiers specialise in assaulting strongpoints, and in Konflikt ’47 they are a core element of any US force structure.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

Als die ersten Stahltruppen der Achse auf dem Schlachtfeld standen, brauchte die US Army eine Antwort - und ging sie anders an. Statt Panzerplatten immer weiter aufzudicken, optimierten die amerikanischen Konstrukteure Gewicht und Gelenkigkeit, damit der Soldat im Anzug noch klettern, springen und in den Häuserkampf gehen kann. Der Ruf, den sich diese Einheiten dabei erarbeitet haben, stützt sich weniger auf Materialstärke als auf Sturheit: Sie werden dorthin geschickt, wo eine Stellung nicht anders zu knacken ist.

Einsatz im Spiel

US Heavy Infantry is the American counterpart to the German Stahltruppen: heavily armoured power-armour soldiers forming the core of US Armoured Infantry units. In the game, they are a 5-man squad with special rules for power armour. They are slower than regular US infantry, but significantly tougher against fire and able to carry heavy special weapons. Ideal for HQ protection or securing key positions.
