    Product details

    Background & context

For transport the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 broke down into three loads, barrel, bipod and baseplate, so that a three-man crew could get it across any terrain without a vehicle. That is exactly what made it the most widely used support weapon of the Wehrmacht, from Norway to North Africa. A well-drilled crew had a dozen bombs in the air before the first one landed. Experienced mortar squads were therefore considered far more valuable than their headcount suggested.

    On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the 8 cm Granatwerfer 34 is a weapon for the heavy weapons platoon. It fires in an arc over your own men and hits enemies even in cover, directed by a spotter. Place it well back, where it covers large parts of the table while the crew ranges in on its target. The mortar is metal, and the three crew belong to the German Veteran Infantry resin range.
