    You decide as you build: fit the turret with 37mm gun and you have an M8 Greyhound, leave the fighting compartment open and it becomes an M20 command car. Both are fast six-wheelers for reconnaissance and flank duty.

    Background & context

    The M8 came out of a programme for a wheeled tank destroyer, but was already too lightly armed for that by the time it reached the troops and instead became the standard armoured car of the American reconnaissance units. Four men served the 37mm gun and a coaxial MG, and many crews bolted an additional heavy MG onto the turret roof. The British called it the Greyhound and valued its road speed above all, while its thin floor plate was dreaded where there were mines. The M20 did without the turret and carried more radio equipment instead.

    On the tabletop

    During assembly you decide whether to build an M8 Greyhound with a 37 mm gun in its turret or an open M20 command and radio car. In Bolt Action both count as armoured cars and can be included in armoured platoons, the M8 as an armed scout, the M20 as a command vehicle. In the Pacific the 37 mm gun even worked as a tank destroyer. The vehicle served with the US Army in Italy, North West Europe and the Pacific, and with the British. Achtung Panzer! supports it too.
