Hintergrund & Einordnung

The M3 Stuart was developed from the M2 Light Tank, receiving stronger armor, modified suspension, and a new recoil system. It was the first US tank to participate in tank-on-tank combat in World War II. From 1942, the British Army often used Stuarts for reconnaissance rather than direct tank duels. In jungle areas, the Stuart proved to be an effective armored vehicle against Japanese infantry, who often lacked anti-tank weapons.

Light tanks and scout vehicles should utilize their mobility rather than seeking long frontal engagements.
