Hintergrund & Einordnung

The M3A1 Half-track was one of the most recognizable US military vehicles of World War II, with Warlord noting over 40,000 M3 Half-tracks produced, along with similar models supplied to the Allies. The vehicle was designed to quickly transport troops to the front lines or through gaps in the enemy’s defenses. The M3A1 variant had a crew of three, could carry ten fully equipped soldiers, and was typically armed with a heavy .50-cal machine gun and two or more .30-cal machine guns. Variants such as tank destroyers, mortar carriers, and ambulances were also built on the same chassis.

Einsatz im Spiel

In the game, the M3A1 Half-track is a protected transport for infantry and support weapons. It gets units to the front faster than a truck and withstands light fire better. In Bolt Action and Chain of Command, it is suitable for mechanized advances, while in Achtung Panzer!, it functions as an escort and mission vehicle.
