Product details

Background & context

The US6 was a three-axle truck in the 2.5-ton class that Studebaker built almost exclusively for export, because the US Army relied on GMC vehicles for its own formations. The lion's share of production went to the Soviet Union, where the truck was so common that soldiers simply spoke of the Studer. Among other things, the Red Army mounted the Katyusha rocket launchers on its chassis. Without this supply of trucks, the great Soviet offensives from 1943 onwards would hardly have got as far.

On the tabletop

The Studebaker US6 gets your American or Soviet infantry to the front quickly in Bolt Action, with plenty of room in the back. Most of the production went to the Soviet Union through Lend-Lease, where soldiers simply called it the Studer and the Red Army mounted Katyusha launchers, among other things, on its chassis. As an unarmoured lorry it unloads its squads behind cover. Decals and damage markers are included.
