    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Zimmerit was a textured anti-magnetic paste applied to the exterior of some German armored fighting vehicles during World War II. On the Tiger II, it appeared on early vehicles before its use was discontinued. The Tiger II combined strong armor with the 8.8cm KwK 43 gun and was assigned to heavy tank battalions. Its combat effectiveness was high, but production, maintenance, and the fuel situation limited its impact.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The King Tiger with Zimmerit is a late-war heavy German tank in the game. Its strong frontal armor and 8.8cm gun make it a dangerous tank duelist. As it is expensive and not particularly flexible, it should be given clear lines of fire and support. The Zimmerit version fits well with certain late vehicle depictions before the end of the coating practice.
