This expansion set for the SdKfz 250 and 251 kits allows for the construction of the reconnaissance variants 250/9 Alte, 250/9 Neu, or 251/23 - each armed with a 2cm cannon in the characteristic open turret. With just one sprue, two out of three possible vehicles can be built.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The SdKfz 250/9 was introduced in March 1942 as a light reconnaissance armored vehicle to replace scout cars on the Eastern Front. Armed with a 2cm KwK 38 and coaxial MG in an open turret identical to the SdKfz 222, the vehicle proved so successful that series production began in May 1943. The SdKfz 251/23 followed as a successor based on the medium half-track and featured the same turret as the heavy wheeled reconnaissance vehicle SdKfz 234/1.

This expansion set builds reconnaissance variants like the Sd.Kfz 250/9 or 251/23. In the game, these vehicles perform reconnaissance, flank protection, and engage light targets. The radio and pintle-mounted options fit well with mobile German reconnaissance units.
