    Product details

    Background & context

The SdKfz 251/9 was fitted with the short 7.5 cm gun, complete with mount, from the StuG III and was known to the troops simply as the Stummel. From 1942 it rolled onto the Eastern Front in numbers, at first on the Ausf C and later on the more simply built Ausf D. At the end of 1944 a modular weapon station with a coaxial MG42 was added, which the smaller SdKfz 250/8 adopted as well. Both were meant to give reconnaissance troops and Panzergrenadiers heavy fire support without artillery first having to be called in.

    On the tabletop

The Stummel brings the short 7.5 cm gun right up to your reconnaissance troops and panzergrenadiers. With high-explosive rounds it engages field positions, MG nests and infantry in buildings without having to wait for the artillery. You fit the conversion to an SdKfz 251 Ausf. C or D or to an SdKfz 250 Neu; the base vehicle is not included. Four crew and a detailed fighting compartment are part of the set.
