Beschreibung

The Rubicon M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman kit can build either an early or late M4A3(76mm)W version or an M4A3E8 with HVSS suspension. Included are 115 plastic parts on 4 sprues, early and late T23 turret parts, VVSS and HVSS suspension, duckbills, stowage, and US tank crew.

The M4A3 was the preferred Sherman variant of the US Army, and the M4A3E8 was first deployed in December 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. The model is supplied unpainted and requires assembly.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The M4A3, with its Ford GAA V8 engine, was the U.S. Army's preferred Sherman variant, replacing other Sherman models in service starting in 1944. In late 1943, the M4A3 was redesigned as part of a program to rationalize and improve the Sherman design. The 76mm-armed M4A3(76mm)W version reached troops starting in September 1944. The M4A3E8 with HVSS suspension and wider tracks first appeared during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 and remained in service during the Korean War.

Einsatz im Spiel

In the game, the M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman forms an armored combat unit for direct fire support and movement towards mission objectives. The tank can accompany infantry, engage enemy vehicles, and exert pressure on key terrain sections. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it is a flexible building block for tank or combined arms battle groups.
