    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Early Panzer IV variants were intended as medium support vehicles for the German tank force. Ausf. B and C were produced only in small numbers, while the Ausf. D was the first large-scale production version. These vehicles saw action in Poland, France, the Balkans, North Africa, and on the Eastern Front. Their short-barreled 7.5cm gun was primarily designed for high-explosive shells against infantry and fortifications.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The early Panzer IV variants in the game are primarily support vehicles for infantry and lighter tanks. Their short-barreled armament is well-suited against soft targets and emplacements, but only limitedly against more modern tanks. They are particularly well-suited for early campaigns and transitional scenarios up to 1942. On the tabletop, they reward combined arms tactics rather than pure tank duels.
