Hintergrund & Einordnung

The M4 Sherman saw its first combat deployment with the British Army at El Alamein, bringing a significant leap in performance with its 75mm gun in a rotating turret. The British designation Sherman was later also adopted by the USA. As the most produced American tank of the war, the M4 was reliable, easy to maintain, comparatively fast, and ergonomic. It became the backbone of the American armored forces and supported the breakout from the Normandy bridgeheads.

In the game, the M4 Sherman Medium Tank forms an armored combat unit for direct fire support and movement towards mission objectives. The tank can accompany infantry, engage enemy vehicles, and put pressure on key terrain sections. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it is a flexible component for tank or combined arms battle groups.
