The KV-1/2 Heavy Tank brings the heavy Soviet KV tanks to the gaming table as a plastic kit and can be built as a KV-1 or KV-2. Also included are Soviet infantry as tank riders, decals and damage markers. Historically, the KV stands for early Soviet heavy tanks with very strong armour that caused significant problems for German anti-tank weapons in 1941.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

Named after Kliment Voroshilov, the KV was a heavily armored Soviet pre-war tank. Weighing around 45 tons, it was slow and unwieldy, but in 1941, its armor rendered many German anti-tank weapons effective only at very close range. The source describes that around 500 KV-1s were in service at the start of the German attack, posing significant problems for German forces. The kit can alternatively be built as a KV-2 with a heavy howitzer for the support role.
