    Product details

    Background & context

Around 113,000 were built, more than any other armoured vehicle in history. The Universal Carrier, which everyone simply called the Bren Carrier, served in every theatre of the war: ammunition forward, wounded back, messages across the front. British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand units had it, and so did the Red Army through Lend-Lease. Armoured enough against shell splinters, open enough for the crew to take in everything going on.

    On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the Universal Carrier is a lightly armoured transport for British, Canadian, Australian and Soviet army lists. It moves a small section or a weapons team quickly onto a flank or an objective and then drives on to scout. Its thin armour stops rifle fire and shell splinters, but not anti-tank weapons. Four crew figures are included, and you choose during assembly whether it becomes a Mk I or a Mk II.
