Product details

Background & context

The M26 Pershing/M45 belongs in the context of the post-war period and the Cold War. Many vehicles from this era emerged from the experiences of World War II but underwent significant technical development. On the tabletop, this classification clearly separates modern tank technology from classic WWII vehicles.

On the tabletop

This kit builds one of the heaviest US tanks at the end of the war, which you send against Panthers and Tigers in games set in Germany in 1945. As an M26, or as the T26E4 with its longer 90 mm gun, it hunts enemy tanks, while as the M45 with a 105 mm howitzer it supports the infantry against positions. The M26A1 is the version for the Korean War, and the included commander suits both wars. Track type and a mantlet with or without canvas cover are chosen during assembly.
