    Beschreibung

    The SdKfz 251 Ausf D with Wurfrahmen 40 - better known as the "Stuka zu Fuß" - was the Wehrmacht's mobile artillery answer to mass targets and entrenched positions. The removable rocket launcher frame makes this kit particularly versatile: it can be built either as a rocket launcher or as a standard half-track.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Wurfrahmen 40 was a German rocket launcher system mounted on the Sd.Kfz 251 half-track vehicle. Three launch frames on each side of the vehicle allowed 280mm to 320mm rockets to be fired directly from their transport crates. Compared to the towed Nebelwerfer, this system offered significantly more mobility and protection for the crew. Its nickname "Stuka zu Fuß" (Stuka on foot) alluded to its devastating effect, reminiscent of the Ju-87 dive bombers. The system proved particularly effective in urban combat zones and on the Eastern Front as a support weapon for armored units.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The SdKfz 251D "Stuka zu Fuss" is a half-track platform for heavy rocket frames. In the game, it provides short, intense fire support against infantry concentrations, buildings, and fortified positions. The option to convert it back to the 251/1D also allows it to be used as a standard personnel carrier.
