    Description

    The 7.5cm PaK 40 is the anti-tank defence with which Fallschirmjäger stop everything up to and including the Sherman in winter. A metal gun, a Warlord Resin crew in winter clothing, plus an oval MDF base for the whole position.

    Background & context

    The 7.5cm PaK 40 reached the front in quantity from 1942, because the lighter calibres no longer achieved anything against the T-34 and KV-1. Over 20,000 were built, and the gun remained the standard weapon of the German anti-tank troops until the end of the war. Fallschirmjäger formations valued its low profile: well dug in and camouflaged, the PaK stayed invisible until the first shot was fired. In the Ardennes in 1944 that was exactly its strength.

    On the tabletop

    In Bolt Action the Pak 40 is a heavy anti-tank gun for the artillery of your Fallschirmjäger force. It can deal with any tank your opponent fields, and its high-explosive shells also work against infantry. It is at its best well camouflaged in an ambush, the way Fallschirmjäger used it in the Ardennes in 1944. The four crew figures wear winter clothing and share the oval MDF base with the gun, which an Sd.Kfz 7 half-track or a horse limber can tow.
