    Background & context

    Die 37mm Gun M3 kam 1940 in Dienst und war so leicht, dass ein Jeep sie zog. Ihre Feuertaufe erlebte sie im Dezember 1941 bei der Verteidigung der Philippinen. Gegen die immer dicker gepanzerten deutschen Typen half sie ab 1943 nichts mehr und wich der 57mm M1. Im Pazifik dagegen reichte sie gegen die leichten japanischen Fahrzeuge völlig aus und blieb dort bis Kriegsende bei Marine Corps und Heeresverbänden im Einsatz.

    On the tabletop

    In the Pacific the 37 mm M3A1 stayed in service until the end of the war, as it was enough against light Japanese tanks and could be moved through difficult terrain. In Bolt Action it is a light anti-tank gun for the artillery platoon that even a jeep can tow. The three crew figures wear US Marine Corps uniform, which makes it a fit for Pacific games. In Europe it suits games up to 1943, after which the 57 mm M1 took its place.
