    Background & context

    Die 37-mm-M3 war zu Kriegsbeginn die Standard-Panzerabwehrkanone der US-Armee und gegen deutsche Panzer ab 1942 schlicht zu schwach. Um wenigstens beweglich zu bleiben, schraubte man sie rückwärts auf die Pritsche eines Dodge-Trucks; das Ergebnis lief als M6 Gun Motor Carriage. In Tunesien war er der erste amerikanische Panzerjäger im Feld, ohne jede Panzerung und mit dem Rücken zum Feind. Im Pazifik, gegen dünner gepanzerte japanische Wagen, hielt sich die Kombination länger.

    On the tabletop

    The 37 mm M3A1 anti-tank gun comes with three US Marine Corps crew figures and a Dodge truck to tow it. With a little conversion work you can mount the gun facing rearward on the truck bed and get the M6 Gun Motor Carriage, the first American tank destroyer used in Tunisia. With no armour and a small calibre, it does better keeping its distance from enemy tanks and picking lighter targets. Both builds can be used in Bolt Action.
