Hintergrund & Einordnung

As Allied forces advanced through France toward Germany, GIs encountered not only fierce German resistance but also the particularly harsh winter of 1944/45 in Northwestern Europe. During the Battle of the Bulge, US soldiers fought in the icy forests of the Ardennes under extreme conditions - digging trenches in the frozen ground was one of the biggest daily challenges. Winter clothing was accordingly in high demand, and troops wore everything they could find to protect themselves from the cold.

Einsatz im Spiel

A complete US Army platoon in winter gear - Mackinaw jackets, greatcoats, camouflage ponchos against the icy cold of the Ardennes. In Bolt Action, this winter platoon is the ideal setup for Battle of the Bulge missions such as defending Bastogne or holding the line against German assaults. Equipped with M1 Garands, BARs, and Thompson SMGs, the platoon covers all ranges. In Chain of Command, the Winter-Equipped Squad represents typical 1944-45 line infantry.
