The Type 97 Chi-Ha was Japan's standard medium tank and could be built in the plastic kit either as a Chi-Ha or as a Type 97-Kai Shinhoto Chi-Ha. The set includes an unassembled and unpainted 28mm/1:56 scale vehicle with damage markers, decals, a stat card, and a building and painting guide.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Type 97 Chi-Ha was the second most common Japanese medium tank of World War II, with over 2,100 units produced. It saw action in the Second Sino-Japanese War, during the Battles of Khalkhin Gol against the Soviet Union, and throughout World War II. Despite being classified as a medium tank by the Japanese, its 15-ton weight and limited armor would have led many contemporary armies to consider it a light tank. The later Type 97-Kai Shinhoto variant, introduced in 1942, received a larger turret with a high-velocity 47 mm anti-tank gun.

Einsatz im Spiel

In the game, the Type 97 Chi-Ha forms an armoured combat unit for direct fire support and movement towards mission objectives. The tank can accompany infantry, engage enemy vehicles, and exert pressure on key terrain sections. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it is a flexible component for tank or combined combat groups.
