    Product details

    Background & context

The Soviet rifle company lived off a few tools, but robust ones: the Mosin-Nagant for the mass of the men, one DP machine gun with its pan magazine per squad, and whole platoons that carried nothing but submachine guns and were meant for the assault. The title of Guards was not raised by conscription but conferred, as a distinction for proven formations. The NKVD troops, for their part, secured the rear areas and tend to turn up on the table as a tough special unit.

    On the tabletop

For Soviet lists in Bolt Action the 30 figures in summer uniform make a whole platoon including its leaders. You can build a platoon commander, commissar and medic, rifle squads with Mosin-Nagant and DP machine gun, submachine gun squads for the assault, and Guards and NKVD squads. The PTRD-41 becomes an anti-tank rifle team and the scoped rifle a sniper team. The remaining parts also let you build spotters and observers.
