    Background & context

    Simon Girty wechselte 1778 auf die britische Seite und führte fortan indianische Kriegstrupps gegen die Siedlungen in Kentucky und Ohio - für die Amerikaner war er von da an der meistgehasste Mann der Grenze. Simon Kenton diente auf der Gegenseite als Kundschafter und Siedlerführer. Ausgerechnet Girty rettete ihn, als Kenton in Gefangenschaft geriet und hingerichtet werden sollte. Die beiden zeigen, wie dünn die Fronten im Grenzland tatsächlich waren.

    On the tabletop

    Simon Girty and Simon Kenton stood on opposing sides in the frontier war and lend their names to small skirmishes at the edge of the woods in Black Powder. From 1778 Girty led native war parties on the British side against the settlements in Kentucky and Ohio, while Kenton served the Americans as a scout and settlers' leader. On the table you use them as leaders of small groups or as scenario figures, for example for a capture followed by a rescue, as Girty arranged for Kenton.
