Background & context

Black Powder II deals with battles from the age of muskets, cannons, and line infantry. The rulebook covers conflicts of the 18th and 19th centuries and is designed for games with armies of model soldiers. The official description lists twelve scenarios, including examples from the War of the Spanish Succession, the Seven Years' War, the American Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, the American Civil War, and the Zulu War. This makes the book an excellent broad introduction to historical tabletop battles of the Horse-and-Musket era.

On the tabletop

With this German softback you play Black Powder II: large battles of the 18th and 19th centuries with battalions, regiments and brigades of model soldiers. The book covers orders, movement, musket and cannon fire and morale, and shows special rules you can use to tailor games to your taste. Twelve scenarios run from Elixheim in 1705 via Bunker Hill and Quatre Bras to the action at iNyezane in 1879.
