Product details

Background & context

The short 7.5cm KwK L/24 was originally the weapon of the Panzer IV, as long as that tank was intended as a support tank. When the Panzer IV received long barrels from 1942, guns and production lines were left over and found their way into vehicles such as the 251/9. For the Panzergrenadiers that was a gain: a high-explosive shell that broke open bunkers, the corners of houses and MG nests without anyone having to wait for assault guns. The nickname Stummel came from the strikingly short barrel, and 52 rounds fitted on board.

On the tabletop

The 251/9 Ausf. D gives your Panzergrenadiers their own fire support in Bolt Action when no assault gun is at hand. The short 7.5 cm gun fires high-explosive rounds at bunkers, house corners and MG nests and opens the way for your squads to attack. Two machine guns protect the vehicle against infantry and aircraft. Historically it belonged to the heavy companies of the Panzergrenadier regiments. One crew figure is included.
