    Description

In place of the forward machine gun there is a 3.7cm PaK 36 behind a shield here. This is the command variant of the Panzergrenadiers, a plastic kit for anyone who wants to organise their half-track platoons properly.

    Product details

    Background & context

By 1941 the 3.7cm PaK 36 was already ineffective against the T-34 and KV, and its crews called it the Türklopfer (door knocker) because at most it woke the enemy up. It was not thrown away all the same: on more than 300 half-tracks it replaced the bow MG and turned the vehicle into the platoon commander's mount. That was enough against lorries, bunkers and light armoured vehicles, and it meant the platoon finally had fire support of its own with it. Such vehicles served in Russia, in North Africa and in North-West Europe.

    On the tabletop

The 251/10 is the vehicle of your Panzergrenadier platoon leader in Bolt Action. In place of the front MG it carries a 3.7 cm Pak 36 behind a shield, which is too weak against modern tanks but can engage lorries, armoured cars and bunkers. That way it accompanies the other half-tracks of your platoon as fire support. The Ausf. D with its smooth hull fits games from 1943. It also has a place in Achtung Panzer!
