Product details

Background & context

Russian infantry between 1809 and 1814 was constantly being reorganised. The regulations of 1811 attached a grenadier platoon to every battalion, and the new kiver of 1812 was slow to displace the older model. Until the end of the war both patterns ran side by side, joined on the march by the forage cap. Jäger and marine battalions wore the same cut and differ mainly in their colours.

On the tabletop

These 40 figures make a Russian infantry battalion for 1809 to 1814, including the grenadier platoon that the 1811 regulations attached to every battalion. The head decides the look: kiwer of the 1809 pattern, the newer 1812 pattern or a field cap on the march. Since both kiwers were worn side by side until the end of the war, you can mix them within one unit. Flags, bases and a painting guide are included, and Jäger can be represented the same way.
