Background & context

Bernard Cornwells Richard Sharpe dient bei den 95th Rifles, der Schützeneinheit der britischen Armee, die statt roter Röcke dunkelgrüne Uniformen und gezogene Baker-Büchsen trug. Der Januar 1809 ist der Rückzug nach Corunna: Sir John Moores Armee schlägt sich bei Frost durch Galicien, die Disziplin zerfällt, und Sharpe hält als frisch beförderter Offizier einen Haufen Schützen zusammen, der ihn nicht haben will. Genau diesen Moment zeigt die Box.

On the tabletop

The box contains Lieutenant Richard Sharpe twice. You assemble the 28mm figure from several parts, choosing between two heads and two arm positions. On its textured base he leads riflemen of the 95th in Napoleonic games or serves as an officer with British light infantry. The one-piece 54mm version with its scenic base is meant for painting and display. It shows Sharpe on the retreat to Corunna in January 1809.
