    Product details

    Background & context

The heavy eight-wheeled armoured cars of the Sd.Kfz 234 series were originally created for desert service and were therefore given an air-cooled diesel engine. The 234/2 version was the only one to carry a fully enclosed turret with a 5cm gun, which had actually been developed for a cancelled armoured reconnaissance vehicle. From 1943 the vehicles went to the reconnaissance battalions, where speed and range counted for more than armour. Only around a hundred Pumas were built, however.

    On the tabletop

The Puma counts in Bolt Action as a light tank with a medium anti-tank gun and has the special rule for reconnaissance vehicles. It drives ahead of your tanks, finds the enemy and can take on enemy armoured cars and light tanks. You can include it in any armoured platoon. It served from 1943 on both the Eastern and Western fronts. The kit comes with a crew figure and decals, and the Puma also has its place in Achtung Panzer!
