    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Panzer III was originally intended to be the main battle tank of the German Panzer divisions. It played a central role in the early campaigns and on the Eastern Front. Later versions received stronger armament or were used as support vehicles with a short-barreled 7.5cm cannon. Its chassis also remained important as the basis for the StuG III.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Panzer III is a versatile German medium tank in the game, suitable for early and mid-war scenarios. Depending on the variant built, it can function as a main battle tank or a support vehicle. While less intimidating than Tigers or Panthers, it is cheaper and easier to integrate into combined arms forces. Especially in Bolt Action and Chain of Command, it performs well as mobile fire support.
