Product details

Background & context

North American battles were fought around farms strikingly often. At Germantown in 1777 British soldiers barricaded themselves in the Chew House and held up Washington's attack; at Gettysburg in 1863 farmsteads such as the Trostle Farm changed hands within hours. A farmhouse offered cover, water, a view and a name for the commander's report. Whoever held it usually controlled the road beside it as well, a logic that works on the table just as it did then.

On the tabletop

This 1:56 scale farmhouse covers the wars in North America from the War of Independence to the Civil War. As at Germantown in 1777 or Gettysburg in 1863, a farm like this quickly becomes the focus of a fight. Put it in the middle of the table, let a unit occupy it and make holding the building the objective. The plastic kit consists of walls and roof and comes unpainted.
