    Background & context

    Die russische Artillerie ging nach den Reformen von 1805 als bestgeordnete Waffengattung des Zarenheeres in die Feldzüge. Der 6-Pfünder bildete das leichte Rückgrat der Fußbatterien: beweglich genug, um mit der Infanterie Schritt zu halten, und in großer Zahl vorhanden. Bei Borodino und an der Beresina stützten sich die Russen immer wieder auf ihre Geschützlinien, deren Mannschaften auch dann am Rohr blieben, wenn ringsum schon alles wich.

    On the tabletop

    Four gunners are running back to their 6-pounder after the shot, which makes the battery look as if it is hard at work. For a Russian army in Black Powder this light gun is the standard piece of the foot batteries and keeps pace with the infantry. Mixed with the firing version it gives you a gun line in varied poses. Licornes and 12-pounders from the same range round off the battery for the campaigns up to 1815.
