Background & context

In 1815 Nassau was a duchy the size of a present-day district, yet it still fielded several battalions, which Wellington firmly integrated into his deployment. At Waterloo whole sections of the line depended on them: in the garden of Hougoumont and around La Haye Sainte, Nassau companies held positions nobody wanted to hold. British officers initially had little faith in these contingents and had to revise their opinion thoroughly over the course of the day. On the gaming table the dark green uniforms make a welcome contrast with the redcoats.

On the tabletop

Six firing Nassauers in green coats represent light infantry for Wellington's army of 1815 in Black Powder. At Waterloo Nassau companies held positions in the garden of Hougoumont and around La Haye Sainte, and that is how you use them on the table: at hedges, walls and buildings. Several packs let you build a whole Nassau battalion or add a firing rank to existing units.
