Background & context

Eine Fußbatterie bestand nie nur aus Kanonen. Zu jeder Handvoll Feldgeschütze gehörten ein oder zwei Haubitzen, deren kurze Rohre Sprenggranaten über Hindernisse warfen, statt flach durch die Linie zu schlagen. Genau dieses Steilfeuer setzte Hougoumont am 18. Juni 1815 in Brand. Für die alliierten Batterien war die Haubitze das Mittel gegen alles, was sich hinter Hecken und Senken verkroch.

On the tabletop

The 5.5-inch howitzer of the Dutch-Belgian foot artillery fires in an arc in Black Powder and reaches enemies behind hedges, walls and in hollows. Each battery of the Hundred Days had two such howitzers alongside six 6-pounders, so with the cannon packs of the range you can complete the battery. Four gunners in Warlord Resin Plus are included. It puts you on Wellington's side in 1815 at Quatre Bras or Waterloo.
