Background & context

The Peninsular War from 1807 to 1814 was a central theater of the Napoleonic Wars on the Iberian Peninsula. British and Portuguese troops fought there together against French armies. The Portuguese army was reformed under British influence and developed into an important part of Wellington's forces. Artillery and cavalry complemented the linear infantry tactics of the era.

On the tabletop

In the game, the box offers a balanced introduction to British-Portuguese armies of the Peninsular War. Infantry forms the main block, while cavalry is used for charges, threat zones, and flanking maneuvers. The 6-pounder cannon supports the line with firepower. The officer organizes command range and army leadership.
