    Background & context

On 22 July 1812 Wellington and Marshal Marmont faced each other at Salamanca. When the French army stretched itself too thin while trying to outflank the British line of retreat, Wellington attacked at once. Pakenham's division struck the head of the French column, and Le Marchant's heavy dragoons rode down several battalions, Le Marchant himself being killed. A few weeks later Wellington entered Madrid.

    On the tabletop

Cuthbert fits a game in which infantry and cavalry work together. In Black Powder his unit holds the centre, pins the enemy with its fire and forces him to deploy. Only then does your British cavalry charge the exposed flank. This lets you recreate the cooperation between arms that decided the day at Salamanca.
