Product details

Background & context

Every British infantry battalion carried two colours, the King's Colour and the Regimental Colour, borne by its two ensigns. Sergeants stood guard around them, because losing a colour was the worst disgrace a regiment could suffer. In battle the colour party therefore drew fire and attacks, and ensigns fell in large numbers. At the same time the colours were the point where a shaken battalion rallied.

On the tabletop

Frobisher works well as a scenario figure: he is the officer who has to carry a message to the brigade commander or get off the field alive. Put him on his own base and send him across the table with a small escort while the other side tries to intercept him. In a regular game of Black Powder he joins the command base of a British infantry unit.
