Background & context

On 10 November 1813 Wellington attacked the fortified positions Soult had built along the Nivelle on French soil. In a broad assault British, Portuguese and Spanish troops took one redoubt after another, and Soult had to fall back on Bayonne. Afterwards Wellington sent most of his Spanish troops home, because they were taking revenge on French civilians for the years of occupation.

On the tabletop

An assault on fortified heights is a real test for McFarthing and his unit. In Black Powder, build a ridge lined with several redoubts held by French battalions. Your British brigades have to take them one after another, while the defenders can fall back from one redoubt to the next. The scenario follows the pattern of the battle of the Nivelle in November 1813.
