Warlord's Tiger II as a hard plastic kit. You choose between the Henschel and Porsche turret during assembly, put the commander in the hatch and end up with the heaviest brute Germany could field in 1944.

Background & context

The Tiger II rolled off the line from early 1944 and combined what the designers had learned from the Tiger and Panther: steeply sloped armour at the front, plus the long 8.8cm KwK 43. At a range of two kilometres hardly anything was a match for it. The price was a weight of just under 70 tonnes, thirsty engines and final drives that rarely stood up to the load for long. Of the roughly 490 vehicles built, a large share were not lost in combat but simply broke down.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the King Tiger is a super-heavy tank with a super-heavy anti-tank gun for German armoured platoons from 1944. Its long 8.8 cm gun hits enemy tanks at great range, so place it where it has long fields of fire and let other units guard its flanks. During assembly you choose between the Henschel and the Porsche turret, and a commander figure for the hatch is included. Achtung Panzer! covers it as well.
