    Product details

    Background & context

Katyusha was the nickname Red Army soldiers gave their lorry-mounted rocket launchers, while the German side called them Stalinorgel (Stalin's organ) because of the howl on firing. The principle is as simple as it is brutal: not a precision shot but a whole salvo into an area, then relocating immediately before counter-battery fire comes in. The most widespread was the BM-13 launcher on the Studebaker trucks supplied under Lend-Lease, which were good enough off road for the Eastern Front.

    On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the Katyusha joins your Soviet armoured platoon as self-propelled artillery. Its multiple rocket launcher fires a whole salvo into a target area; the result depends heavily on luck but can be devastating. Afterwards you move to a new position before enemy fire answers. Two crew figures, decals and damage markers are included, and the model is based on the BM-13 on a Studebaker truck. It can be used in Achtung Panzer! games as well.
