Product details

Background & context

After the destruction of the Alkett works at the end of 1943, Germany was suddenly short of assault gun production capacity. The Böhmisch-Mährische Maschinenfabrik in Prague stepped in and put an enclosed box with a 7.5cm gun on the proven Panzer 38(t) chassis. The result was a good two metres high, sparing in materials and rolled off the line in large numbers until the end of the war. After 1945 Czechoslovakia went on building the type and supplied it to Switzerland as the G-13.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the Hetzer is a medium tank with a heavy anti-tank gun for German and Hungarian army lists from mid 1944. Small and low, it disappears behind cover and waits for enemy tanks, while the remote-controlled roof machine gun keeps infantry at bay. Alternatively you can build the Flammpanzer 38(t) with a flamethrower or the 2 cm FlaK version as a reconnaissance and anti-aircraft vehicle. Achtung Panzer! covers it too.
