Hintergrund & Einordnung

German tank forces were considered one of the most effective branches of the Wehrmacht during World War II. The Panzer IV was the workhorse of the Panzer divisions - in its later F2/G/H versions with the long 7.5 cm KwK 40, it was a formidable opponent for almost all Allied tanks. The Tiger I Ausf. E, on the other hand, was a symbol of German tank superiority: up to 100 mm of frontal armor, the 8.8 cm KwK 36 with excellent range and precision - but also complex in maintenance and logistics. The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was produced from 1944 onwards, based on the Czech Pz 38(t), as a compact, cost-effective tank destroyer (over 2,800 units) and proved its worth particularly in defensive operations in the final phase of the war - with its low profile and the 7.5 cm Pak 39, it was a feared ambush tank destroyer.

Einsatz im Spiel

This Tank Force provides a tactically balanced German tank force for Achtung Panzer! - the three Panzer IVs act as agile all-rounders, operating openly and pressuring enemy infantry and tanks alike. The Tiger I is the anchor of the platoon: almost invulnerable from the front and with a cannon that threatens any Allied tank at range. The Hetzer complements the picture as a lurking tank destroyer, intercepting flank attacks from cover. The included data cards for 16 vehicles also allow for great tactical flexibility when assembling further platoons.
