Product details

Background & context

The Bersaglieri were raised in Piedmont in 1836 as a corps of sharpshooters and kept two peculiarities right into the Second World War: the plume of feathers on the helmet and marching at the double. During the war they were motorised and used wherever speed was needed, in the desert of North Africa as well as in the Balkans and with the expeditionary corps in Russia. Their reputation as the most reliable troops in the Italian army survived even campaigns that otherwise ended badly.

On the tabletop

The Bersaglieri were Italy's light infantry, easy to recognise by the black plume on their helmets. In the Second World War they fought on bicycles or motorcycles alongside the armoured and motorised divisions, in France, Greece, North Africa, Sicily and on the Eastern Front. For Bolt Action the 30 multi-part figures give you infantry for an Italian army. As fast troops they belong on the flanks and on objectives that need to be taken early.
