    The Semovente da 75/18 was an Italian self-propelled gun based on the chassis of the M13/40, M14/41 or M15/42 tank family. The Rubicon plastic kit replicates this important support vehicle, which was used in North Africa and Sicily alongside Italian armoured units.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Semovente da 75/18 was an Italian self-propelled gun of World War II. It was created by mounting the 75mm Obice da 75/18 modello 34 on chassis from the M13/40, M14/41, or M15/42 tank family. The vehicle did not serve as a pure assault gun, but rather as divisional artillery for fire support of medium tank formations in North Africa and during the Allied invasion of Sicily. Its HEAT ammunition could also engage Allied tanks such as the M3 Grant and M4 Sherman. After the Italian capitulation in 1943, captured vehicles were used by German units in Italy and the Balkans.

    In the game, the Semovente da 75/18 is primarily an anti-tank or tank destroyer option. The model is most effective when controlling firing lanes and threatening enemy vehicles at range. In Bolt Action / Achtung Panzer! / Chain of Command, it should be used with cover, positional play, and concentrated fire.
