    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Carro Armato M13/40 was an Italian medium tank at the start of World War II and remained the main Italian tank of the war. It was used in the Greek campaign and in North Africa, but not on the Eastern Front. The M13/40 series was Italy's most produced tank family and included later variants such as the M14/41 and M15/42. The Semovente Comando M40 used the M13/40 chassis, replacing the turret with a large multi-part hatch and incorporating additional radio and communication equipment.
